Autobiography of Swami Vivekananda

Role of Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Vivekananda was born on 12 January 1863 in Kolkata.  He got education in English schools.  After passing BA in 1884, he became a follower of 'Brahmo Samaj' for the peace of spiritual curiosity.  But there his spiritual curiosity could not calm down.  Then he made Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa his guru.  His childhood name was Narendranath.  Mother wanted to make him a lawyer.  But due to the discipleship of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, his quietness increased.  He went to the Himalayas.  He did penance for a few years and then traveled all over the country.  He preached the elements of religion and policy to the people.  At the same time, he got the news of 'Sarva Dharma Sammelan' to be held in America.  With the help of devotees, he reached America.  The Americans were greatly influenced by his scholarly speech.  After living there for three years, he went to England, then returned to India and established the Ramakrishna Mission.  Served the country and society in its own way through the mission.  Such great men are born on earth only occasionally.  Bharatvarsha is the descent land of great men.  In his motherland, Swami is considered a patriot saint of modern times and an inspirational man of his sleeping national consciousness.  He was noted for his prosperity, warm-heartedness, ingenuity and independent attitude.

Thoughts of vivekanand

Swami Ji considered practical education useful instead of theoretical education.  He believed that the education of a person prepares him for the future.  They wanted to prepare for both secular and parochial life through education.  He said that we need such education that the character should be formed, the strength of the mind should increase, the intellect should develop and the person should become self-reliant.  Religious education should be given through conduct and rituals rather than through books.  For the economic progress of the country, technical education should be arranged.  Human and national education should start from the family.  They used to say that you should leave your immovable soul and bow down in front of someone else.  Until you feel that you are the God of the Gods yourself, you cannot be free.  All living Gods - Look at everyone with this emotion.  People praise you or condemn you, may Lakshmi be kind to you or not, your body is today or in an era you never get off justice.  The secret of religion can be known from Achra.

Swami Vivekananda's childhood and his thinking

The child was playing in the premises of Narendra(Swami Vivekanand) Kashi Vishwanath temple.  Then some monkeys came there.  Narendra had some gram.  He called a monkey to be shown to him.  As soon as the monkey started eating chickpeas, the boy Narendra wanted to catch it.  The monkey screamed chi chi.  His voice was heard by the chieftain of the monkeys and he ran to protect him.  The chieftain was tall and wide and terrible.  On seeing him, Narendra started running away.  Forward - forward Narendra was running, behind - behind the head of the monkeys.  Hidden inside the Narendra temple, but the monkey chieftain also reached there.  Finally, Narendra somehow ran - rushed to the banks of the Ganges river and jumped into the water.  He kept swimming in the water for a long time.  When Narendra felt that the monkey chieftain must have gone, he came to the shore.  But in a blink of an eye, Sardar stood in front of Narendra, gritting his teeth.  At the same moment Narendra thought- "The one who got scared, he died".  A stick was lifted near him.  Seeing this the monkey chieftain ran away afraid.  This courageous boy Narendra later got fame in the whole world by the name of Swami Vivekananda.  He illuminated all the worlds with the light of knowledge.

Throw little light on the life of Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda was born in Kolkata in 1863.  He was promising since childhood.  He was educated in an English school and obtained a BA degree in 1884.  Spiritual curiosity was very intense in him, so he became a follower of 'Brahmo Samaj'.  His throat was very sweet, so he had great respect in the Kirtan society.  But Brahmo - the society could not calm their curiosity.  They started wandering here and there in search of truth.  In those days there was immense reverence for Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.  The young man Narendranath also started benefiting from his satsang.  He made Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa his mentor.  Paramahansa ji's speech had amazing charm power, which subdued Narendranath.  Narendranath became his devotee.

Cultural religious public awareness campaign conducted by Swami Vivekananda

Swami ji's mission was to explain the spiritual culture of India from a purely scientific perspective.  He tried to enrich the religious consciousness of the American people through rational and humanistic ideas of Vedanta philosophy.  He was the spiritual ambassador of India to America and he effectively emphasized a better understanding between India and the new world so as to establish a healthy harmony between oriental and western and religion and science.  The establishment of Belud Math is unique in Indian culture. Swami Vivekananda established 'Ramakrishna Mission' and opened its branches across the country.  The purpose of this institution is to promote Vedanta while doing public service.

What was Swami Vivekananda's mother's wish

Narendra's(Swami Vivekanand) mother wished that her son should become a lawyer and get married in a good home.  Mother was very sad when Narendra Nath decided to retire under the influence of Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.  His mother appeared in the service of Paramhansa ji and prayed him to stop my son from disinterest.  But a person who has tasted the joy of the love of God, cannot draw worldly attraction towards him.  Narendranath's disinterest - instinct kept increasing day by day.  He went towards the Himalayas to attain spiritual knowledge.  There he engaged in penance and meditation for many years.  In the search of truth, he faced many kinds of sufferings.

During Swami Vivekananda's Sarva Dharma Conference in America

At the same time Swamiji got the news of 'Sarvadharma Sammelan' to be held in America.  They immediately agreed to join it.  Who was more knowledgeable and time of Hinduism then?  He reached America with the help of the devotee-congregation.  After reaching there, he came to know that it was too late for the conference to be held. The waiting clocks ended.  All the Dharmacharyas were eagerly waiting for Swamiji to say something to their Shrimukh.  Swamiji gave such a sagely, vigorous and fluent speech that the audience became enchanted.  He could not believe that the Hindu of subjugated India could make such a scholarly speech.  Swamiji told the Westerners- "Karma should be done only as a duty. It should not desire fruit." This thing was completely new to him.  Praises of Swamiji's speeches began to appear in newspapers there. The New York Herald newspaper commented on his speeches - "The greatest man in the Parliament of religions is Vivekananda." His speech had the effect that the hearer was self -  Used to be forgotten.  Swamiji lived in America for almost three years and kept preaching Vedanta there.  He then moved to England.  His fame had already reached him there.  There - such scientists, who could not leave the laboratory to eat food, used to wait for hours to listen to Swamiji's speech.  He lived there for about a year.  The people there hung on Vedanta as told by Swamiji.  Many of his English disciples came to India with him.

Suffering suffered by Swami Vivekananda.

They did not get food for several days and sometimes had to sleep barefoot in places where the dreaded Sardi could not be estimated even with a thermometer.  How many times have they encountered lions - tigers and other wild animals.

Swami Vivekananda's return to India

On 16 September 1896, Swamiji left to return home.  When Swamiji landed in Colombo by the ship, the enthusiasm and enthusiasm with which the common people welcomed him was visible.  People used to come from far and wide to get a glimpse of him.

Swamiji's form was very beautiful and grand.  His body was set.  He had a magnetic effect in his vision and the glow of self-control on the mouth.  His nature was very simple and behavior was very polite.  He was an accomplished pundit of English and the best time of his time.  Apart from English, he was well versed in Sanskrit, German, Hebrew, Greek, French etc. languages.  They slept for only four hours.  Woke up at four in the morning and started chanting.

Swami ji's paradise was given to achieve freedom

They encouraged Indians to achieve independence.  He expressed similar thoughts in one of his speeches and said, "Dear countrymen, those who settle in Puneet Aryavarta, will you be able to get the freedom that is right only for the brave men, O brothers of India!  Remember that Sita, Savitri and Damayanti are the goddesses of your caste. O brave men! Be a man and say, I am an Indian, I am a resident of India. Everybody is an Indian, be it my brother.
