Ganesh chaturthi

Ganesh chaturthi in india

Lord Ganesha is considered to be the God who defeats all crises and removes all obstacles.  Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated every year on the Chaturthi of the Shukla Paksha of Bhadramas.  The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati's son Ganesha.  On this day Ganesha is seated in every house.  Apart from houses, pandals are decorated at various places and many types of dish shops are also set up.  After this, on the 11th day, Bappa is fully decorated and sent off with a band.  (That is, the idol is immersed.) Along with Ganesha bidding farewell to the Lord, devotees wish for him to come early next year.  This festival is very unique.

Importance of Ganesh Chaturthi in India

According to mythological beliefs, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati's son Ganesha was born on the day of the Shukla Paksha of Bhadra month.  Therefore, this day was named Ganesh Chaturthi and Vinayaka Chaturthi, that is why Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated.  Their worship also brings happiness, prosperity and growth in the house.  In Shivpuran, Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadramas is said to be the birthday of Ganesha.  But by Ganeshpuran's opinion, it happened on Ganeshvatar Bhadrapad Shukla Chaturthi.

This is why the moon of Ganesh Chauth is not seen

Chandra-darshan is prohibited on the Chaturthi of Bhadrapad Shukla Paksha at night.  It is believed that people who see the moon on this night get a false stigma.  This is stated in the scriptures.  That is why the moon is not seen on that day.  You are requested not to see either.

Indulgence on Ganesh Chaturthi

After the establishment of Ganesha, Ganesha is worshiped daily with full legal practice and he is offered Bhog in the evening.  Modak and Ladd are most loved by Ganesha, so Modak is offered to them on Ganesh Chaturthi.
